A New Yorker by birth with a Florida upbringing, Amy graduated from Columbia University, where she happily studied any number of subjects that could never be considered “useful,” except in a newsroom – political science, Russian literature, Italian, and religion. After several years as a news and talk radio producer, the event bug finally bit her. “As much as I enjoyed telling someone else’s story on the air, I realized that I’d rather help to create it in real life.”
After moving to Atlanta from San Francisco in 1997, Amy worked initially with Event Design Group and later with A Legendary Event where she successfully helped to grow their social design department. With more than eighteen years of event design experience, she enjoys watching a celebration take shape-from the first introductory meeting where possibilities are explored to the final moment when clients see their vision brought to life. “The most gratifying part of my job is designing a special event for someone with the knowledge that it will become part of their life history. I get to help create clients’ happiest memories.”
Amy lives in Morningside with her husband, Andrew, their two sons, Max and Leo, and their Labradoodle, Stella. She loves masses of white lilac, sarcasm and an icy cold Manhattan. Her perfect vacation is one spent anywhere in Italy. Her lowest of lows is a laundry room full of dirty boy clothes.
